Xampp and MySQL Database Server

What is the database? xampp what? a brief description below hopefully can answer the questions above.

A system that does not collect data will be separated from the use of databases. According Bunafit Nugroho (2007) database is a form of media used to store data. Where the database can be illustrated as a warehouse used as a place meyimpan various items in a database, an item is data. In a database consists of two basic parts to build a database, the tables and columns.

In a database table is also known that the term table is also often called the entity or entities, where the table is used to store a group of data. Table function is to store data that is special. So derived from the database is a table, where a table in the database can be more than one (Nugroho, 2005: 75). It is also important that a table can not be there before the database is created.

The column is the smallest form of a database after the table, where the field work to separate the type of data in a more specific scope. The column can also be known as the field or attribute (Nugroho, 2005:76).

MySQL is one of the software database management system (database management system) or the DBMS using standard SQL (Structured Query Language). Where MySQL able to do a lot of queries in the execution of a request (multithread), both the receiving and sending data. MySQL is also a multi-user in the sense that can be used by many users simultaneously. With around six million installations worldwide. MySQL AB makes MySQL available in free software licenses under the GNU General Public Lisence (GPL) and also sells in a license for commercial purposes if the user does not match the license to use the GPL. (Wikipedia, 2007)
The use of a MySQL database server as well as the client can, and can run on the multi-OS (operating system) has other advantages (Nugroho, 2005:4) such as: opensource so that users do not need to pay a license to the author. Can support a database with a very large capacity. Is a database management system (DBMS) that is easy to use. Supported by the ODBC driver, so that the MySQL database can be accessed olek any application. Programming language that can be used to access them is with MySQL C, C + +, Java, Perl, PHP, Python, and APIs. (MySQL internals Manual, 2007).

MyVbQL is the application programming interface (API) in Visual Basic made by icarz.Inc. MyVbQL is an alternative use of the driver ADO MS รข € "MyODBC used by Visual Basic users to access the MySQL database. MyVbQL.dll can be downloaded free at address. Making MyVbQL aims to reduce the size of the software setup. And the use of MyVbQL.dll setup can reduce the file size to 10 MB (megabytes) than using the standard ADO. (Icarz. Inc., 2002)

PhpMyAdmin is an open source tool written in PHP used to handle the administration Mysql database accessed through a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera, etc.). The facilities available at this time can create and delete the database, create, delete and add the table, delete, edit and add fields, doing a variety of SQL commands, set the lock on the field, set the access (privileges), export the data to various formats and is available in 50 languages.

XAMPP is free software, which supports many operating systems, is a compilation of some of the program to menjankan function as a stand-alone server, the program consists of the Apache HTTP Server, MySQL database, and the language interpreter language pemrogramaan written with PHP and Perl. XAMPP is the name which is the abbreviation of X (four any operating system), Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl. The program is available in the GNU General Public License and free, is a web server that is easy to use that can be able to serve dynamic pages. Currently, XAMPP is available for Microsoft Windows operating system, Linux, Sun Solaris and Mac OS X.
